Have no clue what is going on

I"m having a real headache to get into my blog lately, it seems to only work when it wants to!

So we have been pre approved for a new mortgage so we are pretty excited here! We live in a modular home now so we are hoping to get into something bigger, with the website i have a lot of books to store lol. And we won't even talk about the craft items i have. So would be nice to have a room just for my crafts and perhaps a family room or extra room for the website! We will see.

I get a lot of emails from people wanting me to make patterns into pdf files but unfortunately i have to tell them that if the pattern is still in copyright then i cannot do that. People tend to get a little angry with me when i say that , but in all honesty i would prefer that then infringe on a copyright. That is just a little bit of FYI.

I was rather proud of myself i managed to get rid of three garbage bags of wool , and to make doubly sure i did , i put them on the freecycle blog and they were gone within 30 mins...if i didn't i knew i would probably go through them again and keep the majority!!! Now to do that with fabric!!!

I'm looking outside and it has started to snow again, and they are calling for freezing rain later on, that doesn't sound good. I guess it is good that i don't have a car as i wouldn't be able to use it anyway =)

And On to 2012!!!!

I don't know about any of you, but my god this has to be a better year then 2011 . 2011 was a extremely hard year for my family, but i know it will get better. And i hate to say it but i'm glad christmas is over with , i was quite the scrooge this year =(

As for my website, hubby has been working on it and i seem to be getting more hits lately which is nice. And i am offering a special right now, where you buy one sewing pattern and you get the second at half price. I have way to many and need to downsize....ok maybe not downsize but i have a ton of new ones to put on but no where to store them lol.

I have been busy fixing up dolls and barbies for our local thrift shop and they were quite the hit with everyone, they went super quick which was so nice to see. Knowing a little girl or boy was going to get a doll that was nice and clean and had new clothes made me feel warm and fuzzy!

Its almost christmas!

Well Christmas is almost here...i have finally finished all the dolls for the thrift shop and they sold right away! So that was a happy thing. I truly enjoyed doing that, and i will probably keep it up all through the year. I had a especially happy dad buy 2 dolls right out of my hands as i was going to put them on the shelf. He kept telling me how adorable they were and that he was buying them for his daughter. I turned around and his daughter was only about 3 months old =)
I have been also busy sewing jammy pants , boxers, little bags and i'm now in the process of designing a purse....so it has been busy in the sewing department.
So all the christmas parties are done and now its time to turn my house upside down and get some baking and more sewing done before christmas is here! Now i would just like to order some snow to put me in a festive mood.
Hopefully most are enjoying the christmas season and not dwelling on the stress (which seems to be what i do) and don't break the bank this year! Think homemade!

Omg i thought it was gone!

Well i guess i was being punished for not blogging ;p I went to sign in and it seemed to be lost, but don't fear it is back!!
I have been soo soo busy with crafts i just happened to look up about an hour ago and realized 2 days just flew by!
I volunteer at a thrift shop in my little town and i decided to start taking barbies, and dolls home to wash up , redo their hair and redress them, so they are nice and clean for kids. Well of course it didn't stop there, although i could find loads of barbie clothes donated , i had a problem finding bigger doll clothes so i started digging through my stash of fabric and started sewing , wow am i having fun. I have never made doll clothes, so let me tell you it has been quite a experience! I now know how to make a ruffle, headband, install sleeves, but my god for the life of me i cannot figure out collars!!! i worked from about 8:30 till 4 trying to do a collar on a little shirt for a boy doll and i give up, he has a collarless shirt now!
I even made shoes for the dolls, although i have only made 2 dresses and one outfit for a boy doll , i love it.
And what is even more rewarding is knowing i will make one little boy or girl happy on christmas day!
I will hopefully be able to find my camera under all the fabric and mess tommorrow and take pics of the dolls!
Hopefully we get some more snow soon!!!

I have been busy, busy, busy it seems. I had a old fur coat lieing around and i was going to make teddies, which i did attempt, but they just didn't look right so i started thinking and first i made myself a cute fur pin cushion....

Then i decided to make BeeBee a fur bed! She really seems to love it and Roscoe's nose is completely out of joint it seems ;p

I also made a ton of little bags from fabric for gift giving, christmas etc. So that got rid of all my odds and ends of fabric which was nice! Now i'm thinking of making some fabric slippers with a nice soft bottom for the winter.
Then i was watching the food network and started getting hungry (of course!) and decided to haul out my deep fryer and make potato chips , they were ok but boy you sure have to cook them , like to the point of burning them or they go mushy very quickly. I also found some sour cream and onion popcorn spice in my cupboard so i threw it on them after i took them out of the fryer!
They weren't that bad !!

I'm sure glad we almost have the yard done, we had major frost here yesterday morning! And i had to walk my daughter to the bus stop as it was so dark this morning, we have a lot of cougars in this area so i prefer someone walks her....and on a good note there were no cougars out this morning! I have been trying to teach myself to ride a bike again , so i don't think i would of been much help if there were any cougars haha! I really wanted a retro looking bike with wicker basket on the front , that i could put BeeBee in but i didn't have a extra 1500.00 laying around so instead i have a nice economical bike to learn to ride again =) And i won't be attempting to take my little dog in the basket for quite sometime!
If anyone has any hints for making potato chips please let me know!

Well hubby has gone back to work up island and we are home alone for the week. Hopefully this will be over soon, but house prices just aren't very good, but buying house is great!!!
I just went through my fabric stash looking for inspiration for christmas and my ami's and i got quite a few ideas. I think i'm going to make some pillow cases with some really nice soft fabric that i acquired from somewhere i have no idea where! Its nice and satiny (not sure that is a word) and my youngest loves those type of pillowcases because it doesn't muss up her hair ;p
I also found some fur type material that i think i will use to make cat beds for the kitties, as its getting cold here now and i keep finding them sleeping in my wool piles throughout the house lol. I also found some nice stuff for making a few dog beds for beebee and roscoe.

BeeBee was named after my dad, lol i'm sure if he would appreciate that or not , his initials were BBB . I bought her from a pet store in my area, and in all honesty i had just lost my dog daisy and my dad around the same time, and i was not over either death and just wanted to have a little dog again, so if you want to call it a impulse buy i guess you could. Although i never have regretted it she is the sweetest little thing , and she doesn't even mind if i dress her up once in awhile lol. Poor little girl !
Roscoe is a Karrien terrior (not sure i spelt that right) not a jack russell like everyone thinks . He is a extremely nosey and noisey dog, he has a very deep bark and he has to bark at everything even nothing sometimes . Beeb's never barked until about 2 months ago, she just barks whenever Roscoe does and has no clue why !
They follow me everywhere, and have to know what i'm doing every second of the day, as i'm typing this they are both laying at my feet and Roscoe is attentively looking at me waiting for me to move!
Well onto digging my way to the sewing machine, over all this fabric , wish me luck!

I feel like a grape!

i feel like a grape! We have been helping my daughter paint her room, and you guessed it, its purple =) She likes it so i guess that is all that matters, but not sure black trim is going to go over when we go to sell the house!

I have been busy making amigurumis for etsy and have to say it is a stress reliever!

Here are a few i have been busy with !

This is Bat Boy , he is all decked out in his bat costume and comes with all sorts of goodies . A definate alternative to candy although kids need lots of candy at halloween!

He comes with a little notebook to write in, a cupcake, some suckers, some little candies and a cloth that fits in that little can there, oh and of course a flashlight!

This is Giggles and she is already for the cold weather with her little cap and cow dress (of course! )

Just put up a whole bunch of magic crochet and Decorative Crochet magazines. And please know they go quick! I can't keep them in stock.
Also am in the process of making a newsletter for october, god i'm so bad with them! With the newsletters comes free patterns for everyone on the mailing list so let me know if you are interested in it at valeritta@telus.net .
Another rainy day here on vancouver island, or another cozy day as i call them =) They say we are going to have the coldest winter this year since the last 20 years, and to be honest i'm looking forward to it! i love snow !!!
The yard is already for winter, the gardens have all been taken care of, the hoses put in the shed, the lawn mowed for the last time, and i'm picking the last of my herbs to dry. Also picked all the tomatoes and brought them in so they can ripen and i can make spaghetti sauce or dried tomates in olive oil .

Off to a new start!

     Well here i am again starting a new blog for my website, i have had two others but found i wasn't keeping them up to date! So this one i am promising i will!!
     I have recently went through a huge new website change , where i'm hoping it will be easier and just all around better for everyone!
        There are a lot of people who ask if i can pdf a pattern for them. As we all know everyone loves pdf patterns as they can be downloaded instantly and there is no postage! If you have never tried one, trust me , once you have tried them you will love them! Just email me at valeritta@telus.net and i will send you a free one! As i was saying i have a lot of people ask me to pdf patterns which i don't mind doing at all, but i cannot and will not pdf any patterns that are still in copyright.....although most people don't know when the certain patterns are out of copyright , i would just like for people to know that =)
I am still making my amigurumi's and selling them on etsy, and i have to say i love making them. Although my hands get a little tired now and then i still go back to them!
